FISHING REPORT
WALLEYES : Walleye are already back in lake Winnebago and really heating up on the reef. Jig and crawler or leach, and also try casting Salmo's when the bite picks up. Drifting is probably the best method but if you have a favorite spot when anchored use slip bobbers and stay near the drop offs.
PANFISH : Crappies where in the channels in April already but with the cool down I think they backed off. This week expect them to return in numbers. I heard they were starting to catch them from shore in Asylm Bay. Of course Blugill are hot and heavy in the shallows but you will have to weed through the small ones. Very little perch action in the lake but I expect it to start heating up soon.
BASS :  Largemouth are in the channels in great numbers spawning but let's remember to practice catch and release. Smallmouth are also going good on the main lake. Try both surface and working the bottom. Best choices would be Pop R's and buzzbaits for the surface and tube's and 4 inch plastics for the bottom.
OTHERS :  Don't know if the white bass got finished in April or not but my guess is we will have another run starting any day now.
